What We Do
We’ve some exciting news, the Honiton 729 Club IS returning…
BUT there will be some changes. The club will be on every Tuesday 7.15pm-9pm at a new venue. We will be using the Honiton Gymnastics Club on Heathpark Industrial Estate, Honiton EX14 1BB .
The unit has a vast area where we can sit 25 people (which includes 4 volunteers, support staff and members, in their social bubbles of 6) comfortably. The gymnastics club will be responsible for the cleaning before and after our use and we will be responsible for the PPE of all our volunteers and we will provide the use of sanitisers on entrance to the club.
Due to the current state of play, it is intended that all members and support staff, will need to book a table – this will be our track and trace system and all data will be destroyed after 14 days. Everyone will be tested for their temperature on arrival, and if your temperature is high (37.8C or higher ) unfortunately we would not allow you into the club for obvious reasons and ask for you to return home. Support staff will be responsible for their clients.
The price of the club night will be £5 if accompanied by a support staff and £4 if you come independently. Refreshments: drinks will be £1, crisps 50p, chocolate bars 50p and fruit bags 50p. We ask that you bring your own cup if possible, a loyalty card will be issued, 6 stamps and then get a free drink! You will be shown to your tables where you must remain for the duration of the evening and volunteers will come and take your refreshment order.
We intend to hold movie nights, quiz and bingo nights, snail racing, craft nights, dance classes and eventually live music acts once again. Our Facebook page and website will have all the necessary details on.
We offer choices and a voice to all our members in a safe and friendly environment where they can enjoy social activities and make new friends.
We received £400 in funding from Exeter Chiefs Foundations towards a new PA system. A huge thank you to them.
We've recently been approved for some funding from The Tackling Inequalities Fund towards some active and healthy club nights.
The Norman Family Charitable Trust
We have received a grant for £2,000 towards the construction of level access from the car park to
enable wheelchair access and provide accessible steps into the building.
We are currently receiving advice and having plans drawn up for this.
The Honiton 729 Club has been chosen to benefit from the next round of the Co-op Local Community Fund.
Every time a member buys selected own-brand products and services, 1% of the money they spend goes to local causes in their community, and the Honiton 729 Club will benefit from this fund.
We are raising money to purchase musical instruments to use and join in when we have live music.
So, whenever you go into the Co-op and buy something, please donate to our club.
